The 43rd annual Tallahassee marathon will be held February 5, 2017. Beginning in 1975 with just two participants, the marathon is now a well-known and eagerly anticipated event in Florida’s capital city of Tallahassee (the half-marathon began in the 1980s). In 2016, we showcase new Tallahassee marathon and half-marathon courses that highlighted local landmarks and parks and ran through neighborhoods and business districts.
This event has a lot to offer the Tallahassee community and we hope you will be a part of it. Even if you are not running, please consider volunteering or supporting those who are running. Here are a few reasons why this event is going to be better than ever in 2016:
Both marathon and half marathon courses end at our permanent finish line in downtown Tallahassee. The Tallahassee Marathon is partnering with Hang Tough and the Gulf Winds Track Club. All proceeds from the race are split evenly between these two charities. Water Stations and cheering stations along all 26 miles. The crowd support is unlike any other. Tallahassee is a place where college town meets cultural center, politics meets performing arts and history meets nature, a place where the vibrancy of what to do is matched only by the city’s inviting hospitality.
